Apurav Gupta is a Graduate Research Assistant and PhD Candidate in the Engines and Combustion Lab (ECL) at the University of Alabama (UA). Since joining ECL in Spring 2021, Apurav has been involved in setting up a synchronous instrumentation system to operate annular and disk RDE rigs. His research involves optical diagnostic techniques to characterize RDE exhaust, with a primary focus on quantifying 3D density fields through Rainbow Schlieren Deflectometry. Before pursuing his PhD, Apurav earned a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, and an M.S. from UA.
