Dr. Mehmet Cellek is a researcher specializing in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling using ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS CFX, and Converge CFD software. His work encompasses flow, heat transfer, and combustion in complex engineering systems such as turbo machines, burners, and internal combustion engines. Dr. Cellek’s research is focused on optimizing energy efficiency and reducing emissions, including soot, CO, CO2, and NOx, in industrial applications, particularly within burners and internal combustion engines.

Since 2022, Dr. Cellek has been engaged in experimental and numerical investigations of spray combustion and heat transfer, emphasizing high-pressure and high-temperature environments for various liquid fuels. His research combines experimental and computational methods to enhance the understanding of combustion processes.

A significant aspect of Dr. Cellek’s work is the exploration of combustion and emissions behavior for conventional, alternative, and renewable fuels, including hydrogen and ammonia-enriched fuels. He has extensive experience in designing both premix and non-premix burners, including innovative hydrogen-powered premix systems aimed at achieving ultra-low emissions and improved thermal efficiency.
In addition to his research, Dr. Cellek is an editorial board member of the Journal of Thermal Engineering. He has supervised three graduate students and has contributed to four successful university-industry collaborations. Dr. Cellek currently collaborates with Dr. Bittle and Dr. Agrawal as an engineering researcher.
