Muhannad Hendy is a PhD student at the Engines and Combustion Lab. Muhannad joined ECL in 2023 and has been working on an ARPA-E-funded project to mitigate methane slip in large-bore two-stroke engines. His research aim is to better understand cyclic variability in ICEs and to devise preemptive control strategies using nonlinear dynamics, ML, and other analysis techniques. He also has industrial automotive experience applying CFD and co-developing a state-of-the-art 3D transient thermal modeling software. Muhannad received his BSc and MSc degrees in Mechanical Power Engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt.
