Rodney is a PhD student and researcher in the Engines and Combustion Lab (ECL) at The University of Alabama (UA). Rodney joined ECL in the Summer of 2023 and has been working on a US DOD-funded project. His research focus is the characterization of fuel sprays and the combustion of exotic fuels and additives. He applies Rainbow Schillerian Deflectometry (RSD) along with other high speed imaging techniques to qualitatively and quantitively characterize internal combustion fuels and blends.
Rodney received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Alabama A&M University. Rodney has also interned at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as well as Brookhaven National Laboratory where he co-authored multiple publications.
