Stephen is a third-year PhD student in the Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Alabama, where he specializes in internal combustion engines. He is a fuel systems expert, with experience developing PFI systems for motorsports with Nostrum High Performance and ECR Engines. He is also highly skilled at engine instrumentation and test cell development, having developed wiring harnesses, implemented testing and measurement equipment, and commissioned research engines for M2X Energy, as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, and as a Graduate Research Assistant in the ECL.
Stephen’s passion for cars runs deep – his research primarily focuses on medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines, where he examines alternative fuels, advanced combustion concepts, and novel engine architectures to make more power, improve efficiency, and reduce emissions.
